PHILADELPHIA, PA—The latest chapter in the AJ Brown saga took place this week, as the star receiver took to the social media platform formerly known as Twitter after the Eagles tragic Wild Card loss to request a trade from his Geico TV ad spot. The enigmatic pass catcher showed frustration at times throughout this season with his vanishing target share during games, and it seems those frustrations have now spilled over into his endorsement cameos.
In what was either a plea for a spot with more screentime and name recognition or a potent observation on aquatic pond habitats, Brown cryptically posted, “The ugly duckling always swims the farthest. Love you all ❤️”
Clarifying his tweet, Brown later made an impromptu appearance on a Twitch stream of Madden 25, where he played in custom uniforms featuring the Liberty Mutual logo and fumed, “Not to get political, but Flo from Progressive never settles. Jake from State Farm never settles. That’s what I’m doing: never settling.”
Brown went on to lose the streamed game 40-7. During media availability this week, he was asked about what the team could do to improve advertising efficiency, to which he shrugged his shoulder and responded, “That’s probably a question for the Gecko.”
Representatives from Brown’s team were unavailable for comment, and were last seen waiting beside Saquon “Stay-Calm” Barkley’s locker to ask how to get their client in a Nationwide ad.
